Following graduation from the University of Melbourne in 1988, David spent 5 years in mixed practice throughout Australia, England, Scotland, and Wales. He then completed small animal and equine internships at Colorado State University, and a research fellowship and comparative ophthalmology residency at the University of Missouri. He joined the faculty at the University of California-Davis in 2000. He is the author of Slatter’s Fundamentals of Veterinary Ophthalmology (now in its 5th edition), an editorial board member for the Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery, a founding board member of the American Board of Veterinary Ophthalmology, and the 2012 WVC Small Animal Continuing Educator of the year. David’s major interests are ocular surface disease.

About HSAVA
Hungarian Small Animal Veterinary Association (HSAVA) was founded in 1993 in Budapest by the teachers of Veterinary University. It has approx. 200 members permanently. The mission of HSAVA is to provide an up to date information to the hungarian small animal vets on clinical science and to support our leader hungarian lecturer to participate in the most important veterinary cogresses, seminars, events all over the world.
HSAVA organizes two congresses and some workshops each year. Our 2-3 days long congresses are visited not only by the hungarian vets because 80-90% of lectures are in english by the invited world famous speakers. HSAVA’ invitation were accepted Mike Willard, Chiara Nolli, Didier Carlotti, Rick LeCouter, Ron Ofri, David Holt etc.
HSAVA has joined to the family of FECAVA and WSAVA not to later foundation . It provides a great possibility to visit FECAVA and WSAVA annual congresses.
